It Matters Who You Marry

Companies who manufacture products don’t build their products first and then look for something their products can do. They first encounter an objective or task that needs to be done. These companies begin their inventions with purpose then, they design and build a product specifically for that task.

God the Creator, the ultimate “manufacturer”, does the same. He never throws organs and muscle into a frame of bones, covers it with skin, breathes life into it, and then wonders what it is for. He begins with purpose and then creates a new human around that purpose. Included in all our parts is a purpose, a dream, a divine reason for which we exist. You have it in you; I have it in me; God will not only help you to discover it, but He will also help you to fulfill it.

It’s not for the faint of heart. If you are alive and breathing today, there is still a purpose for you to accomplish. One of the dangers that can hinder the impact of our purpose being fulfilled is a bad romance. You see, these purposes we have been given are meant to be aligned with the mate He wants to give us.

If we do allow God to match us, He always does so with our destiny in mind. If we don’t allow God to take the lead with the love of the romantic kind, we will lack divine wisdom and insight and risk partnering with a bad romance. The result of this would be the challenging complexities of a mismatched love, which has been known to ruin the impact of many people’s purposes.

Keep in mind God presented Adam with a mate fit for him as a human and as a man of God (Genesis 2:4-3). He set a precedent in Genesis to show us it matters to Him to be the One Who brings us “the one” who fits us and our purpose. No one knows who our future needs more than He.

It’s well worth it to wait upon the Lord!
